Young children do spend countless hours hosting a tea party for the stuffed animals and the dolls. The kids love the tea parties as this is one time when they can act like adults. You can actually take this to the next level – invite some of his/her friends and create your very own Children’s Tea Party.
A children’s tea party is an easy event to organize on any sunny afternoon and you can all kinds of special elements like tea sandwiches and cookies. You can also think of games and fun activities to make the party more appealing to the children.
If the weather is warm and even partially sunny then we recommend that you make arrangements to set up the tea party outside in the lawn or in the garden. Choose a floral designed table cloth as the little girls love this design or just spread a thick cloth on one side of the lawn and encourage them to host the tea party here just like in ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

But how do you make these tea parties more interesting? For a start, you can encourage your child and his/her friends to bring their stuffed friends to enjoy the afternoon games. Want to make it more exciting for them? You can dress them up as bears as a post-tea-time activity.
When organizing a children’s tea party we tend to overlook the most important part. Obviously, they are not going to have teas but you can actually give them cookies that look like little tea bags. The chocolate laden cookies are a real hit among the young ones and they will simply love gorging on them in the afternoon.
For the food you can prepare special tea sandwiches for the kids. You may use simple fillings like the traditional peanut butter or make more exotic sandwiches filled with turkey & mayonnaise or ham & cheese. For the games do include the sugar cube stacking race as it is great fun and enjoyed by the kids all the time.
How can you end a tea party without return favors? Well, this is not compulsory but you can give out fancy cupcakes to the little ones. One can also organize children’s tea party in the terrace, in the local park or even in the garage to with a special theme thought out. But hosting them is a good idea as it encourages bonding and pretends play among the children.
