Culture is the effect of fashion. The culture at Dolce & Gabbana consistently fabricates stunning Italian luxury wear, often inspired by the beauty and diversity of Dolce’s ancestral home on the island of Sicily. Needless to say, today’s celebrities are flocking to wear it time and time again, ever since Dolce & Gabbana styled the costumes for Madonna’s The Girlie Show tour. The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were no exception and several stars were seen sporting the D&G brand.
Looking every bit of a masterpiece, Angela Bassett eschewed respect and royalty across the red carpet in Grecian-inspired Dolce & Gabbana. The 2022 Emmy Awards attendees could only stand by and watch as the folds in her lemon silhouette glittered ahead of the step-and-repeat. Her sequin-adorned bodice was displayed against a citrine yellow sash, highlighting her smooth complexion. The torso was not complete, of course, without terrific boning to illuminate the fabulous physique of the Wakanda II star. Barely visible, canary peep-toe pumps made an adorable accent to an already chic Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. The New York native boasts an impressive seven Emmy nominations going back to 2002’s The Rosa Parks Story where she played the titular character.
The bombshell, Kaley Cuoco, delighted onlookers with a flawless ballerina pink Dolce & Gabbana frock. The thigh-length cocktail dress matched a stylish and simplistic skirting that extended the outfit to the floor. A trail of soft rosette appliqués laid across the bust and waistline provided the most visual interest for the ballgown. All shades of pink organza were represented in the tailoring, from blush to bubblegum. The Outstanding Lead Actress nominee’s legs were the stars of the outfit, however, as their length accentuated the sleekness of the garment’s light tulle fibers. The Flight Attendant star also drew attention for her red carpet couple debut with Ozarks actor, Tom Pelphrey, who wore a muted and classic black pantsuit, extending her splendor.
The Step Brothers co-star, Adam Scott, chose a black Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo for the Emmy Awards against a white shirt with black buttons. Scott opted for a cummerbund with the tweeds, befitting the elevated sartorial elegance in his style of wardrobe. The Severance lead was making his first-time appearance at the show’s 74th anniversary as a nominee and was applauded by his peers. His unique additions of an onyx silk bowtie and a complimentary cream carnation above the heart satisfied the trouser suit’s final look. Scott was joined by his wife, Naomi.
The star of the night, the hilariously-talented Quinta Brunson, was a visual feast for her fans as she accepted the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in Dolce & Gabbana. With a darling leg split up to the hip of a sheath skirt, the metallic brown tones of the dress danced under the stage lights. Donning herself “Jessica Rabbit”, the outfit included unforgettable, transparent coffee gloves that went from fingertip to shoulder. The construction of chocolate pompom and caramel sequins on the breastplate could have made an easy substitute for gorgeously-ornamented armor. Even as she towered above Jimmy Kimmel’s silent gag beneath the podium, Brunson was a pillar of fortitude and funny in floor-length Dolce & Gabbana.
Dolce & Gabbana’s looks are capturing hearts and eyes across red carpets each and every award season. Celebrities and influencers alike are styling themselves after the consciousness of Messrs. Dolce and Gabbana. Look forward to seeing their bespectacled fashions in the future.
