One of the most life-changing events for an adult is becoming a parent. A stream of emotions flows through them wherever their child is concerned. The only thing that becomes paramount is keeping them healthy and safe from any illness.

It hurts more than what can be imagined seeing your little one falling prey to any infectious disease. As the child grows older, building immunity in them becomes all the more important.

So what are the key methods to build immunity in your child right from birth? If you are looking for the answer to the same question, keep reading to fill yourself with all the answers.

Breastfeed your baby – Breast milk contains WBCs and immunity-enhancing antibodies. These WBCs and antibodies guard the babies against several diseases like pneumonia, allergies, meningitis, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Moreover, the first stage of breastmilk, known as colostrum, is like a gold standard for building a baby’s immunity. Many studies have concluded that kids who are breastfed for at least six months after birth have a better immune system and are less prone to allergies.

Provide them with a healthy platter – Eating fruits and vegetables of all colors is the surefire way to boost immunity. Fruits and vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, and berries are not only bright in color but also rich in antioxidants. Additionally, seeds, nuts, and grains contain essential vital omega fatty acids. Not to mention, you need to ensure that your child should not be prone to any food allergy from any food item like peanuts or seeds. You can conduct at home food allergy test to determine whether your little one has any food allergy or not. Depending upon the results, you can take the necessary measures. Besides, do not give them junk foods or foods with excess sugar as it can lead to chronic health problems or long-term health problems in daily life.

Be active – There is no denying the fact that regular exercise is one of the best methods to remain fit. 30-60 minutes of activity in the playground or park is enough to build a stronger immune system in children. To make exercise more interesting, exercise together with them, or you can play any sport together. In this way, you are not just teaching them healthy habits, but it is also a great way to strengthen the bond between the parents and the child.

Boost sleep time – If your child is sleep-deprived, it can make him more susceptible to illness, thereby leading to a weaker immune system. As per the pediatricians, an infant needs up to 16 hours of sleep, toddlers need 11-14 hours of sleep and preschoolers require sleep of 10-13 hours. The sleep should be uninterrupted. You can make bedtime more interesting for your child by including a light massage or warm bath in it. Hence, it is not wrong to say that a well-rested child is stronger in keeping the infections at bay.

To sum it all up

Believe it or not, building a child’s immune system requires a few efforts and the payoff is worthwhile. So, start following the tips as mentioned above and make your kid stronger and healthier.
