I have been working with an ideal weekly family schedule for several years. That’s a template where you start thinking about what your perfect week would look like. It acts as a guide through your day to day planning & helps you to organize yourself and your family better.
Advantages of working with an ideal weekly schedule:
- You have a better overview.
- Scheduling certain tasks at fixed times during the week provides a lot of peace of mind.
- You already have a basis in drawing up your weekly or daily schedule.
- You consciously think about what you are going to do and when instead of just listing tasks. This way you can take into account your energy level & when you are most productive. This will ultimately save you time.
By drawing up the schedule in general with myorganiza, you can cluster tasks (e.g. administration, emails, …) instead of doing them spread over the week. It includes a weekly chore cart for kids.
How do you get started to draw up your ideal weekly schedule?
Think about how your day is usually structured. For me this is, for example, as follows: morning part at home, morning part on the train, morning at work, … Draw the layout of your page.
List on which recurring tasks & events you have: housekeeping, administration, hobbies, …
Indicate on this list the tasks / events that you have to do at a certain time. For example, these are the hours that I am in my main occupation. This can also be a regular sports evening, the youth movement of the children, your lessons at school, … Put these first in your schedule.
Now try to cluster the similar tasks on your list & fill them in on your schedule. I always take my energy level into account. I also consciously plan relaxation and me-time in that ideal weekly schedule!
Are you visually oriented like me? Then you can color code the tasks on your ideal weekly schedule. Or if your scheme also takes other people into account (your family, team members, …) you can also assign them a color.
This schedule has saved me a lot of time and worry in recent years and I am convinced that it will be the same with you. So get started and organize yourself with this ideal weekly schedule!
