Gaming doesn’t have to involve blowing up buildings, thrilling car races, and battling your way through fantastical worlds. Instead, it can be a place to escape the noise and find peace. For a game to count as relaxing, there shouldn’t be any real thought involved. Instead, you should be able to get lost in melodic soundtracks and stunning worlds. With that in mind, we’ve gathered together the best games for promoting relaxation.

Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing is the perfect game for relaxation. After all, it was originally designed for busy Japanese people to escape after a hard day’s work. There isn’t any serious thought that goes into Animal Crossing; you just need to search the wilderness for items and build up a town. If you want to get lost for just a small section of the day, the tasks in Animal Crossing are capped each day.

Simply Puzzles: Codewords

Okay, so we said that relaxing games shouldn’t be too mentally taxing, but some people find completing puzzles soothing, which is why we’ve included Simply Puzzles: Codewords. You can access this game through the Steam store and play through the library of 100 puzzles using a touch screen computer, which is why these Touchscreen Lenovo Gaming Laptops are the perfect relaxation companion.

Abzu

Exploring the deep ocean in games typically means rushing frantically to avoid running out of breath. However, Abzu takes you on a calming underwater adventure that follows a similar style to the award-winning game Journey. Each destination is visually stunning, and there’s a calming soundtrack to complement the watery landscape. As you explore this world, you will learn about the fish, who will show you around. When it comes to gameplay, all you need to do is relax and let yourself be absorbed.

House Flipper

House Flipper combines Grand Designs and How Clean Is Your House and allows you to transform an infested dive into a beautiful sanctuary. Once you’ve created your construction business, cleaned up the mess, and transformed properties, you can sell them for a profit. Then, once you’ve made some cash, you can expand your empire and do it all over again. This game doesn’t take much thought, as it’s just a case of getting lost in the simulation.

Donut Country

Donut Country is an indie game from Ben Esposito, and the aim is to control a hole in the ground and swallow infrastructures. As you travel through the world, your hole gets larger, and you can consume more significant objects including buildings. Using the hole, you will need to solve a series of whimsical puzzles that don’t take themselves too seriously. This is a fun game that’s designed for mindless gameplay, which makes it perfect for relaxation.

Life can be overwhelming at times, and the last thing you want to do is give thought to the gaming world. Fortunately, there are plenty of games out there designed specifically for switching off, and you’ll find a game regardless of your genre preference.
