You finally found your dream wig? Now you have to make sure you take care of it the right way.

A hair piece can also suffer from split ends. Unfortunately, this hair just doesn’t grow back. In addition, the wig is often composed of hair from multiple donors, each with a different hair type. It is therefore important to take better care of the hair than you are used to. Let us advise you on which product suits you best and make sure you buy your wig from the best online wig store. With special shampoos you can keep your hair looking beautiful and healthy for longer.

How to wash your wig

Nowadays there are beautiful wigs for black women that looks very natural. Make sure most of the tangles are brushed out. Then fill a sink with cold water. Add shampoo the size of a 50 cent coin. Always use wig shampoo. This has different ingredients than shampoo for real hair and is therefore better for your wig.

Make sure the shampoo is well mixed with the water. Submerge the wig, move the wig through the water, then soak the wig in the water for about 2 minutes. Then rinse the wig gently with cold water until all of the shampoo is removed.

Repeat the previous steps 1 more time

To dry your wig, squeeze out the water well, then place it on a towel, fold it in half and pat the wig. It is important that you do not brush the wig while the wig is still wet. Doing so can cause irreparable damage to your wig. Then hang the wig to dry on the bath faucet or shower head. Depending on the length of your wig, it can take up to 24 hours for your wig to dry completely. Once the wig dries, put the wig back into shape by spraying wig care. With wigs that are not heat resistant, make sure that you do not use a flat iron or curling iron on full heat. When you don’t want to much work placing a wig headband wigs are a great solution.
