Are you searching for outdoor toy ideas for your kids to enjoy this fall? These toys will provide more benefits than some alone time for you.

A chill in the air marks the undoubted return of fall. Your kids may be hesitant to run outside to play, but fall is the perfect time to play outdoors. It’s not so hot, and you don’t need that pesky winter jacket yet. Try any of the below outdoor toys to help your children enjoy the fall season a bit more this year.

Gardening Tools

Want to get your young ones excited about gardening and cleaning up the leaves? Grab them their very own set of gardening tools. Kids love getting dirty, and most of them enjoy digging in the dirt alongside Mom and Dad. Fall also brings the leaves dropping and raking, which means jumping in giant leaf piles! Everyone can get involved and enjoy a day of jumping into the leaves.

Sandbox

Sandboxes provide sensory play along with imagination building. Your kids can dig, build, and create until their heart is content. They also help develop motor skills. These toys aren’t only great during fall; use them whenever the weather is warm enough to allow outside play.

Use the sandbox as a sensory box. You can fill it with different themed items each week or month. Add plastic pumpkins, spiders, and fake leaves for October, or plastic apples and fun pasta shapes for September. Have your kids search through the sand until they find all the objects.

Ride-On Toys

Ride-on toys are an investment, but they provide many benefits. Your kids will have hours of fun riding around the driveway, sidewalks, or backyard exploring the space in a new way. If you have an older elementary school-aged child, there are ride-on toys built to handle tougher terrains for even more exciting adventures.

Set up a fall-themed nature scavenger hunt around the neighborhood. Your children can drive the car to different locations to find the objects.

Kites

Add more vibrant color to the sky on a windy day with a kite. What kid doesn’t want to learn how to fly a kite? These toys will help build your child’s confidence as they learn to control and get the kite into the air. There are plenty of styles and sizes to choose from, so pick one with your kid’s favorite superhero character. Or, try a fun geometrically shaped kite to wow the onlookers.

The above toys will help your child explore the outdoors as the weather becomes chillier. It’s the perfect time to keep their imaginations turning. Remember, don’t ever stop exploring.
