Parenting in the twentieth century is way more challenging than it was in the past. Because kids are smarter and are living in a much more complex environment, and in fact they tend to get isolated very easily. But with the right approach, it is easily possible to not only be a good parent but also to keep your children from getting isolated. By becoming their confidantes. Conscious parenting has no strict rules, it is centered on the belief of creating a positive atmosphere for your children, and a few things to be considered in this regard are as follows.

Check your language

Try not to be harsh or scolding or even dominating while asking your child to behave a particular way, instead be suggestive and try to discuss matters with them instead of just imposing your will.

Use empathy instead of power

Children should not feel dominated by their parents, instead parents should try to be as empathetic as they can. Empathy can be a potent tool, it can get children to think of their parents as companions rather than bosses.

Be supportive

Always be supportive, children should be able to think of their parents as their confidantes. Communication is a must. Always discuss the problems that they are facing and instead of outright suggesting solutions. First offer support and then do so, after a healthy discussion.

Be mindful of your child’s age

Children act and behave in very different ways in different ages – as an infant they tend to be explorative, as a preteen they tend to be observant as well, while as a teen they tend to be emotional. Knowing that the way your child behaves is affected by age, will take you a long way in becoming a dream parent.

Don’t be rigid

Never try to be inflexible, even if your child’s demands seem unreasonable. There will definitely either be a middle ground or an alternate path. Try to be flexible, try to solve such problems instead of just outright shutting up your children rigidity. This is not a good attribute of a parent, it suites only a dictator.

Show your love

This is most important of all, we all love our children but the point is to show it with our support. And by always being there for them. In case your children are being unreasonable, try to be loving and kind. Show your love for your children and they will indeed show their love for you in return.
